Earthquake of 3.5 magnitude hits Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.5 on the Richter Scale hit Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir at around 11 pm on Sunday, the National Centre for Seismology said.

The quake occurred at a depth of 5 kilometres in the region.

This was the second quake to have struck the land-locked Himalayan nation in less than 24 hours.

On Sunday morning, another earthquake of magnitude 6.1 struck Nepal. The epicentre of the earthquake was at Dhading, which is located around 55 kilometres west of the capital Kathmandu.
