At least 14 people were killed, while more than 20 passengers were injured after a bus lost control and crashed into a tree in Thailand.

The accident occurred in the country’s western province of Prachuap Khiri Khan at half past midnight.

Rescuers were seen pulling passengers out from the wreckage.

The bus’s front was split in half after the crash, news agency Reuters quoted state broadcaster ThaiPBS.

“All those injured are being treated at hospital,” a statement read, adding that an investigation on the causes of the accident was being carried out.
