Seven passengers were killed and more than 40 others sustained injuries after a passenger bus collided with a truck on the Lucknow-Gorakhpur highway in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya.
The bus toppled sideways after colliding with the truck and came under a loaded goods carrier, officials said.
The accident happened late on Friday evening, when the private bus coming from Ayodhya tried taking a turn on the highway to move towards Ambedkarnagar. The bus collided with the truck coming from the opposite side, killing 7 people and injuring over 40 passengers.
The district administration launched a rescue operation soon after the accident.
