IPL 2022: Rahul Tripathi And Aiden Markram Shine As Sunrisers Hyderabad Beat Kolkata Knight Riders By 7 Wickets

Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated the Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 wickets at the Brabourne Stadium, on Friday (April 15). Chasing a stiff total of 175 runs put up by KKR, SRH were keen to register their third victory of the tournament.

Former KKR batsman, Rahul Tripathi was very keen to prove his old team’s decision of not picking him in the auction wrong. He smacked KKR bowling attack for 6 maximums and 4 boundaries. Tripathi scored a total of 71 in just 37 balls in chase of 176.

Along with him, Aiden Markram was the second reliable batter for SRH, as he smashed an unbeaten innings of 68 off just 36 to guide his team home.

Earlier, the SRH pace unit comprising the likes of T Natarajan (3/37), Umran Malik (2/27), Marco Jansen (1/26) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/37) restricted KKR for 175 for 8.

For KKR, Nitish Rana scored 54 while Andre Russell was unbeaten on 49. SRH now have three wins from five games while it was KKR’s third loss in six games.
