On May 18, Amber Heard’s sister Whitney Heard Henriquez testified that she personally witnessed her sister’s ex-husband Johnny Depp hitting her.

She also claimed that she found herself in the middle of fights that took place between her sister and Johnny during their troubled relationship.

WHAT DID WHITNEY HEARD HENRIQUEZ SAY IN COURT?
Whitney Heard Henriquez, the first witness to testify at the five-week civil trial, said she personally witnessed Johnny Depp hitting her sister, Amber Heard. Earlier, the actor had testified he never struck his ex-wife.

According to Whitney, the fight between the two occurred in March of 2015. This is the month after Johnny and Amber’s wedding when the actress found evidence that her then-husband had already had an extramarital affair.

Talking about the fight, Whitney Heard Henriquez recounted that an inebriated Johnny blamed her sister for forcing him into the extramarital encounter. Describing the incident, she said, she was caught between the two as Johnny charged up a staircase to confront her sister, Amber. Whitney recalled Amber was struck in the back and that’s when the actress became enraged and “landed one” on Johnny Depp.

Whitney also revealed one of the actor’s bodyguards intervened and broke up the fight between the duo, but “by that time Johnny had already grabbed Amber by the hair with one hand and was whacking her repeatedly in the face with the other,” said Amber’s sister. Whitney added that it was the only time when she herself witnessed a physical assault. However, Whitney also talked about seeing the aftermath of other fights, including bruises on her sister.

Whitney Henriquez opened up about Johnny’s behaviour at Amber’s 30th birthday party in April 2016. It is said to be one of the final fights between the couple. Whitney said people took turns sharing favourite memories of the actress. However, Johnny, who arrived late and intoxicated at the party, told a story about when he first met Amber, how “she sat on the couch and her perfect (posterior) left the perfect imprint on the couch.” Whitney added, “We were all kind of embarrassed.”

OFTEN HAD TO COVER BRUISES: AMBER HEARD’S FRIEND
During the same trial on May 18, Amber Heard’s friend, Raquel Pennington, testified that she saw the bruises and cuts on Amber, in the aftermath of multiple incidents of abuse inflicted by Johnny Depp. In a recorded deposition played for jurors, Raquel Pennington stated while she never personally witnessed Johnny strike Amber, she did see the injuries.

This was after a fight in which Amber says her ex-husband head-butted her and perhaps broke her nose. Raquel said Amber Heard “often had to cover bruises and injuries on her face” with makeup. Raquel Pennington further revealed she doesn’t really consider herself a current friend of the actress as they grew apart in the last year.
