Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann marries Gurpreet Kaur; Kejriwal, Raghav Chadha attend ceremony

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann married Dr Gurpreet Kaur today. His family and friends, including Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, were present at the occasion.

The wedding proceedings of Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann with Dr Gurpreet Kaur began in a close private ceremony at his house in Chandigarh.

Arvind Kejriwal, who played the role of a father and performed all major rituals at CM Mann’s wedding, told reporters at the airport, “Today is a day of immense happiness that my younger brother and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann ji is getting married and is making a new beginning.”

“May God bless him with a happy married life and both [the couple] always remain happy,” the Delhi CM said.

Talking to reporters here before the ceremony, AAP MP Raghav Chadha said, “A new chapter in CM Bhagwant Mann’s life is going to start today. I congratulate Mann saab’s family, his mother and sister. It will be a small function. Only family members will attend.”

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann tied the knot with Dr Gurpreet Kaur today, July 7, less than 24 hours after springing a surprise wedding announcement. This is the Aam Aadmi Party leader’s second marriage.

Gurpreet Kaur completed medicine in 2018. She is the youngest of three sisters. She reportedly assisted in Mann’s campaign during the Punjab elections earlier this year.

Kaur’s family is from Kurukshetra’s Pehwa locality. Her father, Inderjit Singh, is a farmer.

Her sisters stay abroad. Sources close to Mr Mann said their families have been associated for years.
