The United Nations (UN) on Monday stated that 46 girls and women were among 53 killed in Kabul classroom suicide bombing on Friday, September 30.

The UN Mission in Afghanistan informed that the human toll from Friday’s bombing in Hazara neighbourhood of the Afghan capital has now risen to 53. It also said that 110 people were injured in the explosion.

“Our human rights team continues documenting the crime: verifying facts & establishing reliable data to counter denial & revisionism,” UN mission in Afghanistan tweeted.

Several reports claim that over 100 students were killed in the attack, however, the UNAMA said that its human rights teams in Afghan capital are assisting in establishing an accurate record of the attack at the education centre.

Several women from the minority Hazara community took out protest march against the terror attack at the Kaaj Educational Centre. The blast took place in the west of Kabul’s PD-6 inside the education centre located in Dasht-e-Barchi when students were taking a practice college exam.

Even India on Saturday condemned the suicide bombing in Kabul and extended condolences to the bereaved families.

“We are saddened by yesterday’s terror attack at the Kaaj Educational Center in Dasht-e-Barchi, Kabul and extend our condolences to the families of the victims. India strongly condemns the continued targeting of innocent students at educational places”, said Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi Arindam Bagchi tweeted.

The recent explosion came days after blasts were reported in Kabul near Wazir Akbar Khan area and outside the Russian Embassy.

A blast rocked the vicinity of the entrance to the Consular Department of the Russian Embassy in Kabul in September, killing two employees of the diplomatic mission and injuring many citizens of Afghanistan as well.
