Bengali actress Debashree Roy’s mother Arati Roy passed away on November 8. She was 92.

She breathed her last due to age-related ailments. Arati Roy is the maternal grandmother of Rani Mukerji.

RANI MUKERJI’S MATERNAL GRANDMOTHER PASSES AWAY
Tollywood actress Debashree Roy’s mother and Rani Mukerji’s maternal grandmother, Arati Roy passed away on Tuesday, November 8. The Bengali actress has confirmed the news. Arati Roy was suffering from a prolonged illness. She is survived by her three daughters – Debashree, Purnima and Krishna.

In August 2022, Arati Roy suffered severe injuries after she fell down and injured her forehead. Debashree informed that she had lost a lot of blood.

DEBOSHREE ROY CONDOLES HER MOTHER’S DEMISE
Arati Roy had been living with her elder daughter for the past few months. Her daughter, Bengali actress Debashree Roy, told Anandabazar Patrika, “I was not aware when she died.”

She also shared how her mother played a pivotal role in shaping her career in the Bengali film industry. “Ma (mother) encouraged me to be an actress. She had no other illness other than some age-related ailments. But in the end, we were able to be with her during her last moments. She passed away peacefully surrounded by us three. For that, I will never not be grateful to the All Mighty,” said Debashree.
