Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav expressed his concern over the “Sanghis’ attempt to disrupt the state’s harmony,” in the wake of violence.

That erupted after two groups reportedly opened fire at each other in Bihar Sharif and Sasaram. Taking to Twitter, Tejashwi Yadav said that in states where the Bharatiya Janata Party is weak, there has been panic.

Stringent action has been taken against the miscreants by identifying each one of them, he added. The Bihar deputy CM said that the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has been giving befitting replies to any “experiment” carried out by the BJP to break the brotherhood of the state.

Vehicles, houses and shops were torched, and several people were injured in the communal flare-ups reported in both towns. As many as 112 people have been arrested in Bihar Sharif and Nalanda as fresh violence erupted after the Ram Navami clashes.

Meanwhile, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar chaired a high-level meeting over the violence and directed the police to be on alert, identify the anti-social elements and act against them to maintain law and order.

Officials were also asked to monitor those spreading rumours and take appropriate measures to curb misinformation or disinformation. The BJP, on the other hand, has squarely blamed the Nitish Kumar government for the communal tension in the state.
