“The Supreme Court is hearing the case. Whatever the court decided today, I applaud it. I have faith in the top court’s decision and the police inquiry. I will assist the investigation whenever it requires my assistance”, he said.

The BJP MP further said: “FIR must already have been filed. I have been abiding by the law, so I will continue to. The Supreme Court is hearing the case. I haven’t escaped. I’m at residence”.

Brij Bhushan’s remarks came hours after he released a defiant statement, declaring he will ’embrace death the day I feel helpless… (and) no longer have strength to fight’.

“Friends, the day I introspect on what I gained or lost, and feel that I no longer have the strength to fight; the day I feel helpless, I would wish death as I won’t be living a life like that. Instead of living such a life, I would wish that death takes me in its embrace,” Bhushan said in the video.
