Several parts of Delhi-NCR witnessed a change in the weather and received light showers on Monday morning.
The rainfall brought relief to Delhiites from the sweltering heat that they have been facing for the last few days.
The fresh spell of rain brought down the temperature in the national capital to 29°C. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi might continue to receive light rainfall till June 19.
The IMD has predicted rain with strong winds in parts of Delhi, western Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. There might be scattered rains with thunder in the western Himalayas and northern parts of Punjab.
Delhi’s Safdarjung, Lodi Road, IGI Airport, Noida, Dadri, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, Manesar, Ballabhgarh, Sonipat, Rohtak, Jhajjar and adjoining areas in NCR would receive light rain in the next few hours, according to IMD.
“Light to moderate intensity rain would occur over and adjoining areas of many places of Delhi (Safdarjung, Lodi Road, IGI Airport), NCR ( Noida, Dadri, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, Manesar, Ballabhgarh) Sonipat, Rohtak, Kharkhoda, Jhajjar, Farukhnagar, Kosali, Mahendargarh, Sohana, Rewari, Palwal, Narnaul (Haryana) Bagpat, Khekra, Sikandrabad, Bulandshahar, Shikarpur, Khurja, Gabhana, Jattari, Atrauli (U.P.) Bhiwari (Rajasthan),” IMD said.
