New Zealand cricket decided to announce their World Cup squad in a heartwarming way as they used the family members of the 15 players selected to unveil the team travelling to India.
New Zealand will kick off their campaign against England on October 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This match is particularly anticipated as it is a rematch of the previous World Cup’s finalists.
After England, they will face the Netherlands on October 9 in Hyderabad, followed by Bangladesh on October 13 and Afghanistan on October 18, both in Chennai. They will then play against India on October 22 in Dharamsala and Australia on October 28, also in Dharamsala. In November, they will compete against South Africa on the 1st in Pune, Pakistan on the 4th in Bengaluru, and finally, Qualifier 2 on November 9 in Bengaluru.

Kane Williamson makes the cut to be named as captain
Kane Williamson has made his recovery in time to be named as the captain for the World Cup as New Zealand announced their squad for the upcoming ICC event in India on Monday.
Williamson has been on a challenging journey to recovery after suffering a significant injury. In April 2023, while playing for the Gujarat Titans in the IPL, he ruptured his ACL in his right knee during an awkward landing while attempting to catch a ball at the boundary. This unfortunate incident led to him being sidelined from the game for several months.
However, Williamson’s recovery process paid off as he made the cut.
