President Draupadi Murmu said that there is a need to stay away from such food items which increase the problem of climate change.
He said that there is a need to choose such food items which do not cause any harm to nature. The President was addressing the concluding session of the three-day World Food India program in the national capital.
President Murmu also expressed concern over the problem of hunger in many parts of the world and said that the rise of mass starvation is due to lack of distribution as the world is producing enough food.
He said that we should also keep in mind the environmental value of what we eat. Previous generations did not need to worry in this regard. Food Processing Industries Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras said that there is a lot of potential in this sector.
