Rohit Sharma feels that Australia have been dominant in World Cup 2023, having won their last eight matches in the tournament.

On Sunday, November 19, India and the Aussies will be up against each other in a high-voltage final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

In the semis against South Africa, Australia had to fight hard, but won the match by three wickets at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The Aussies are the five-time champions of the ODI World Cup, and Rohit said that he is aware of what they can do on a big stage.

“I mean, I don’t agree not being dominant. They have won their last eight matches and they played really well. So, it’s going to be a good contest. Both teams deserve to be at this stage, playing the finals. And we do understand the importance of what Australia can do,” Rohit said in the pre-match press conference.

Rohit, in the meantime, said that India do not want to worry much about the opposition. Rather, he said that the Men in Blue want to focus on their own plans going into the crunch game.

“They are a very complete side. And for us, what is important is what we want to do as a team and I have said it many times in the past in this tournament and even now I will say the same thing, we don’t want to worry about the opposition and what kind of form they are in,” he stated.

“We need to focus on what is important for us and what we need to do as a team and players as well and we will stick to it,” Rohit added.

India have won 10 matches in a row and also beat Australia when the two teams last met in the league stage back on October 8 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
