Dunki box office Day 1: SRK film mints Rs 30 crore, his lowest opening day in 2023

‘Dunki’ is Shah Rukh Khan’s third release of the year after ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’.

As the film graced the screens on December 21, Shah Rukh Khan’s fans turned up in large numbers to watch SRK and director Rajkumar Hirani’s magic on screen. However, the film received mixed reviews from critics and audiences. According to early estimates, the film has raked in approximately Rs 30 crore in India.

SRK’S ‘DUNKI’ TAKES MODERATE OPENING IN THEATRES
Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ released in theatres on December 21. The film will clash with Prabhas’ ‘Salaar’ starting today, December 22.

‘Dunki’ is a film close to Shah Rukh Khan’s heart and he urged fans to watch the film in theatres. On Day 1, December 21, the film is estimated to have earned Rs 30 crore net in India. This is his lowest ever Day 1 collection in 2023.

‘Pathaan’, his first release in 2023, earned Rs 106 crore worldwide, while ‘Jawan’ minted a whopping Rs 129.6 crore globally.

‘Dunki’ released in only one language, hence it is expected to have a moderate opening. But, trade reports suggest that there might be a surge in collection during the weekend. On December 21, the film recorded an occupancy of 29.94 per cent.
