Joe Biden’s latest gaffe: ‘US has lowest inflation of any country in America’

US President Joe Biden has made yet another gaffe while speaking about his administration’s efforts to tackle inflation in the country.

Instead of saying that the US has one of the lowest inflation rates in the world, Biden said, “We have the lowest inflation rates of any country in America.”

“Wages are rising faster than prices and now we have among the lowest inflation rates of any country in America. And, still, we are fighting to lower it even further,” Biden said in his address in Milwaukee in the state of Wisconsin.

Biden, 81, the oldest US President, is set to face 77-year-old Republican Donald Trump in a re-match of the 2020 election on November 5, 2024.

Despite concerns over his advancing age, Biden is still going ahead with his presidential campaign and has insisted that he is doing well.

Earlier this month, a video of Biden mistakenly saying that the US would be airdropping food and supplies into ‘Ukraine’ instead of Gaza City went viral.

Last month, Biden momentarily confused Palestinian terror group Hamas with the term “opposition” when asked about ongoing hostage negotiations with Israel, but quickly corrected himself.

In November last year, Biden referred to his second-in-command Kamala Harris by the wrong title, calling her “President Harris” instead of the Vice-President.

A special counsel’s report investigating his possession of classified documents released last month described the 81-year-old Democrat’s memory as ‘hazy’, ‘fuzzy’, ‘faulty’, ‘poor’ and having ‘significant limitations’, The Associated Press reported.

It noted that Biden could not recall defining milestones in his own life, such as when his son Beau Biden died or when he served as Vice-President.

But an angry Biden said “his memory was fine” while denying that he had forgotten when his son died. Beau Biden died of brain cancer in 2015 at the age of 46.
