‘Shaitaan’ box office Day 6: Ajay Devgn-Madhavan film earns Rs 100 crore globally

Ajay Devgn and Madhavan’s supernatural horror film, ‘Shaitaan’, is setting cash registers ringing at the box office ever since it hit theatres.

The film surpassed Rs 100 crore worldwide and still continuing its theatrical run. According to the trade estimates, ‘Shaitaan’ has been earning over Rs 6 crore net in India during the weekdays, which is a great sign.

The recently released film is now eyeing Rs 80 crore net at the domestic box office. It is said that ‘Shaitaan’ has earned over Rs 87.55 crore (gross) in India and Rs 20.45 crore overseas in five days.

On March 14, the film is estimated to have earned Rs 6.25 crore net in India. The collection is likely to see an incline during its second weekend in theatres.

‘Shaitaan’ recorded an overall occupancy of 13.08 per cent on March 14 in India. The film has been receiving mixed reviews from critics and audiences.

Directed by Vikas Bahl, the film’s story and screenplay were written by Krishnadev Yagnik and Aamil Keeyan Khan, respectively. The film also features Janki Bodiwala and Anngad Raaj in crucial roles.

For the unaware, ‘Shaitaan’ is the official remake of the Gujarati film, ‘Vash’. It released in theatres on March 8, 2024, amidst huge anticipation.

The film was jointly produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak. Cinematographer Sudhakar Reddy Yakkanti, editor Sandeep Francis and composer Amit Trivedi form the technical crew of ‘Shaitaan’.
