Karnataka MP and suspended JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna, who has been arrested in the alleged sex tapes case, is not cooperating

In the probe led by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the state government, sources told India Today TV. Due to this, the SIT is planning to conduct a spot inquest today or on Monday at the crime spot.

The sitting MP from Hassan district, who is seeking re-election as an NDA candidate, was arrested on May 31 upon landing at the Bengaluru airport after flying in from Munich, Germany. He had left the country in April as explicit video clips showing him allegedly sexually abusing multiple women started making the rounds in Karnataka.

The sources said that for two consecutive days, Revanna gave evasive replies to the SIT’s questions. He insisted that the case was a conspiracy against him, and he had done nothing wrong.

For the spot inquest, the SIT is likely to take him to Holenarsipura in Hassan district where Revanna is the sitting MP.

The probe team plans to complete the site inspection process by at least Monday before counting of votes for the Lok Sabha elections slated to take place on Tuesday.

PRAJWAL REVANNA’S MOTHER GOES INTO HIDING

The sources further said that Prajwal Revanna’s mother, Bhavani Revanna, has gone into hiding after avoiding an SIT notice to appear for questioning in connection to Prajwal Revanna’s sex scandal.

Bhavani Revanna, who has also been accused in a kidnapping case linked to her husband JD(S) MLA HD Revanna and their son, wrote to the probe team initially, saying she would cooperate and could be questioned at her residence in Holenarsipura.

However, when the team issued the notice and visited the residence on Saturday, they could not locate her despite an extensive search. The SIT waited for her to return home till late in the evening, but she did not show up. Bhavani Revanna’s lack of cooperation with the SIT will likely aggravate her legal troubles, the sources said.

The SIT issued the notice after her application for anticipatory bail from arrest in the kidnapping case was dismissed at the Special Courts of people’s representative. If she continues to evade questioning, the SIT is planning to arrest her.

Bhavani Revanna is currently in hiding at an unknown location, with indications suggesting she may be staying at a relative’s house, according to the sources. Meanwhile, she also plans to approach the Karnataka High Court for anticipatory bail, which may be her only chance to avoid arrest by the SIT.

Due to the court holiday on Sunday, her application for anticipatory bail is expected to be filed tomorrow.
