‘Kalki 2898 AD’ box office Day 4: Prabhas’s film jumps to Rs 500 crore in 4 days

Prabhas and director Nag Ashwin’s ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is leaving no stones unturned at the box office.

The film grossed Rs 500 crore worldwide in its opening weekend and is having a phenomenal run. With this record, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has also entered the Rs 300-crore nett club in India. With positive reviews from all quarters, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is expected to earn over Rs 800 crore in its lifetime, according to trade experts. The sci-fi film has been breaking one record after another ever since it hit theatres on June 27 in multiple languages in 2D and 3D.

Vyjayanthi Movies, the production house, shared the official update about ‘Kalki 2898 AD’s’ box office numbers. They wrote, “500 crores #Kalki2898AD #EpicBlockbusterKalki (sic).”

Not just India, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is also setting the box office on fire in North America as it became the highest grossing Indian film in its opening weekend.

According to Prathyangira Cinemas, the film earned $10.5 million (Rs 87 crore approximately) in its opening weekend.

Director Nag Ashwin shared a special message thanking the audience in the USA for their appreciation, which contributed to record-breaking numbers.

‘Kalki 2898 AD’ had a monumental first Sunday (June 30) at the box office. According to early trade estimates, the film is said to have earned Rs 85 crore nett in India on June 30. While the Telugu version earned Rs 36.8 crore, the Hindi version flew high with Rs 39 crore on Sunday.

The four-day total collection of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ now stands at Rs 302.4 crore nett in India. The Telugu version of the film recorded an occupancy of 84.24 per cent on June 30.

‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is a sci-fi action adventure written and directed by Nag Ashwin. The mega-budget film is a blend of science fiction and Indian mythology. Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan in lead roles, while Shobhana, Pasupathy, Saswata Chatterjee, Anna Ben, Disha Patani and Brahmanandam feature in supporting roles.

‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is produced on a massive budget of Rs 600 crore by Vyjayanthi Movies.
