Maharashtra CM Announces Diwali Bonus For Mumbai Civic Body Staff, Others Ahead of Poll Announcement
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday announced a Diwali Bonus of Rs 28,000 for all the employees of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

CM Shinde said that the bonus would also be given to all the state kindergarden teachers and Asha workers. This would be Rs 3,000 more than that of the last year. Last year on November 8, Shinde announced a Diwali bonus of Rs 26,000 for BMC employees.
The announcement comes minutes ahead of Election Commission of India’s (ECI) announcement of schedule of Maharashtra legislative assembly elections and the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) came into effect. The 288-member Maharashtra assembly would vote in a single phase on November 20, while the counting of votes would be done on November 23.
