’12th Fail’ actor Vikrant Massey announces break from films. Here’s what he said

Actor Vikrant Massey, on December 1, announced that he is taking a break from films until time deems fit.

His post on temporary retirement from films has left the industry and fans in shock. In his post on Instagram, he mentioned that he has the last two films and many memories to cherish. This decision comes after the release of his latest project, The Sabarmati Report. Recently, he was conferred the Indian Film Personality of the Year award at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.

His post on Instagram read, “Hello, The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realise it’s time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father & a Son. And also as an Actor. So, coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right. Last 2 movies and many a years of memories. Thank you again. For everything and everything in between. Forever indebted (sic).”

Actor Esha Gupta expressed her support and wrote, “Vikrant (sic),” with a series of heart emojis. Many fans were shocked to read his note and expressed their sadness. Actor Vikrant Massey scored a massive hit in 2023 with director Vidhu Vinod Chopra in 12th Fail. He portrayed the role of IPS Manoj Kumar Sharma. Subsequently, his films, Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba and The Sabarmati Report were released.

The Sabarmati Report received appreciation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and was declared tax-free in many states. The film is based on real-life incidents of the Godhra train incident. Vikrant Massey now has Yaar Jigri and Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyaan in the pipeline. Though his post hinted at a temporary break to recalibrate, it is yet to be known when the actor would make his comeback.
