Thousands of farmers from Noida and Greater Noida are set to march towards the national capital today, Monday, as part of a major protest.

In response, the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police have issued a traffic advisory, warning commuters of increased congestion. The demonstration, led by the Bhartiya Kisan Parishad (BKP), will head towards Parliament in Delhi, where the farmers plan to hold a protest. The march was announced on Sunday by BKP leader Sukhbir Khalifa, who said that the farmers are demanding compensation and benefits under the new agricultural laws.

Due to the protest, both Gautam Buddh Nagar Police and Delhi Police will carry out intensive checks at the Noida-Delhi borders, setting up barricades and barriers. This is expected to lead to increased traffic pressure on the routes.

Traffic Advisory:
As per the advisory, issued on Sunday, vehicles heading towards Greater Noida from Chilla Border will be able to reach their destination via the Sector 14-A flyover, Golchakkar Chowk (Sector-15), Sandeep Paper Mill Chowk, and Jhundpura Chowk.

Vehicles travelling to Delhi from the DND border can take the elevated route via Film City flyover through Sector-18. Vehicles coming from Kalindi Border will be able to reach their destination via Mahamaya flyover through Sector-37.

The advisory further stated that vehicles heading from Greater Noida to Delhi can travel via the Charkha roundabout and Kalindi Kunj. Vehicles moving from Greater Noida to Delhi can also take the Hajipur underpass to Kalindi Kunj, or travel from Sector-51 to Sector-60 via Model Town.

For those using the Yamuna Expressway, the advisory suggests taking the exit at Jewar toll towards Khurja and reaching their destination via Jahangirpur. Vehicles coming from the Peripheral Expressway via Sirsa and Parichowk will be directed to use Dadri and Dasna, instead of exiting at Sirsa.

The police have also provided a traffic helpline number, 9971009001, for commuters facing any inconvenience. In addition, Section 163 has been enforced, and a heavy police presence will be deployed to manage the situation.
