AAP’s Satyendar Jain caught on cam getting massage in Tihar jail, BJP slams VIP treatment

The BJP on Saturday released an old video of Aam Aadmi Party minister Satyendar Jain getting a massage in Tihar jail cell. This comes days after Superintendent of Tihar Jail, Ajit Kumar, was suspended for alleged VIP treatment to Jain.

According to Tihar jail sources, the video is old. The jail authorities have already taken action against concerned officers and jail staff.

Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate alleged that Satyendar Jain, arrested in an alleged money laundering case, was being given VIP treatment inside the Tihar jail with facilities like head massage, foot massage, and back massage being provided to him. The financial probe agency also submitted evidence related to the Delhi minister’s “luxurious life” in jail to a court.

“Unknown persons were giving massages and foot massages to Jain, even beyond curfew hours. He was given special food,” Additional Solicitor General (ASG) SV Raju, appearing for the ED, had said.

The ASG shared certain CCTV images with the court and alleged that most of the time Jain was either in hospital or in jail enjoying various facilities. The 58-year-old Delhi minister was arrested on May 30.

“VVIP treatment in jail! Can Kejriwal defend such a mantri? Should he not be sacked ? This shows true face of AAP!” BJP’s Shehzad Jai Hind said in a tweet, sharing another CCTV footage of Jain getting a foot massage.

Earlier, the Aam Aadmi Party had dismissed the allegations of special treatment to Jain in jail, calling them absurd and baseless.
