Actor assault case: Kavya Madhavan refuses to appear for questioning in police club, insists on Dileep’s residence

Kerala Crime Branch team probing the 2017 actor assault case continue to negotiate with actor Kavya Madhavan as she refused to appear in a police club for questioning and insisted on Dileep’s residence.

Kavya, who is the wife of actor Dileep, is also a witness in the case.

While the Crime Branch insisted that the actor should appear at the Aluva Police Club for interrogation, the actor said that she is ready to appear for questioning only at the couple’s Aluva residence ‘Padma Sarovaram’.

Her legal argument is that since she is a witness, she has the right to choose a place of her convenience for questioning. Actor Kavya will be questioned along with film director Balachandrakumar and another witness in the case.

The inquiry team has meanwhile ruled out any change in the venue. Though Kavya was asked to appear before the Crime Branch on Monday, she stated that she’d be available for questioning only on Wednesday.

She wants the questioning to be held at Dileep’s Aluva residence. It is understood that the Crime Branch has taken a legal opinion on this matter.

The Crime Branch will soon inform the actor about their final decision on the place of questioning.
