An Air Canada flight (AC43) en route from Delhi to Toronto received a bomb threat e-mail on Tuesday which turned out to be a hoax.

The flight that was scheduled to take off around 10.50 pm, was sent to the isolation bay. Necessary aircraft screening process was undertaken, to ensure the safety of passengers.

The Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) office received an email at 10.50 pm on Tuesday stating that a bomb had been planted on the Delhi-Toronto Air Canada flight, the officials said, reported PTI.

“Following standard security protocols, a thorough inspection was conducted and nothing suspicious was found,” a senior police officer said.

In a similar incident last week, a Paris-Mumbai Vistara flight, with 306 passengers and crew members onboard, received “a handwritten note on an airsickness bag threatening a bomb” in the aircraft, a media report said citing a source.

On Friday, a Delhi-Srinagar Vistara flight with 177 passengers onboard received a bomb threat mid-air. It landed safely in Srinagar and all the passengers and the crew were evacuated.
