Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film, a story about Indian lawyer and statesman C Sankaran Nair, is set for release on March 14, 2025.

The announcement of the official release date of the film was made by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions on social media on Friday, October 18. The film also features R Madhavan and Ananya Panday in lead roles.

The film is set in the backdrop of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and focusses on the story of the barrister who challenged the British Empire to acknowledge the horror of the incident that took place in the pre-Independence era. It is based on a book titled The Case That Shook The Empire.

An official note from the production house about the release date read, “The untitled film on the shocking cover-up of a massacre that pushed India’s top barrister C. Sankaran Nair to fight an unprecedented battle against the British Empire. The film is inspired from real life events and adapted from the book ‘The Case That Shook The Empire’, written by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat (sic).”

The film, which is yet to be titled, is directed by Karan Singh Tyagi. While not much about its story is revealed yet, it is believed to be a hard-hitting courtroom drama where Akshay plays the role of Nair.

The actor, meanwhile, recently wrapped up the overseas schedule of his upcoming comedy film, Housefull 5. Akshay has been struggling with a dull phase at the box office. However, he has got a stunning lineup of films, including Jolly LLB 3, Singham Again (special appearance) and Sky Force, among others.
