‘Animal’ box office Day 10: Ranbir Kapoor’s film eyes Rs 500 crore in India

Ranbir Kapoor and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal’ is setting the cash registers ringing.

On December 10, the film had an eventful Sunday as it raked in over Rs 35 crore in India. The action drama is now inching towards Rs 500 crore at the box office in India. ‘Animal’ received a mixed response from critics and audiences alike. However, that did not affect the film’s box office performance.

Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ released in theatres on December 1 amid high expectations. The film has been called out for glorifying toxic masculinity and misogyny.

However, despite the criticisms, ‘Animal’ is performing exceptionally well at the box office. The film had a phenomenal Sunday (December 10) at the box office as it reportedly earned over Rs 37 crore net in India. The fact that ‘Animal’ is continuing to score in double digits in India on its 10th day in theatres is a great sign for the film’s long run.

This takes the film’s 10-day total collection to Rs 432.27 crore in India. In just a couple of days, ‘Animal’ will cross Rs 500 crore at the domestic box office. On December 10, the film recorded an occupancy of 52.45 per cent in theatres.

‘Animal’ is an action drama directed and edited by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. He also co-wrote the film’s screenplay with Pranay Reddy Vanga and Saurabh Gupta. The film features Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Rashmika Mandanna in pivotal roles. Triptii Dimri appeared in a key role as well.

The film is about Ranvijay Singh, who is a ruthless and violent man. When he learns about an assassination attempt to kill his father Balbir Singh (Anil Kapoor), he decides to take revenge.

‘Anima;’ released in theatres on December 1 in multiple languages.
