Arshad Warsi recalls Akshay Kumar wanting to play everyone’s role in Jaani Dushman

Actor Arshad Warsi recently shared a humourous anecdote about his experience filming the 2002 movie Jaani Dushman he revealed.

That he had pleaded with the director to kill off his character early in the film. He also mentioned how Akshay Kumar was so enthusiastic about the project that he was willing to take on any role.

In a recent interview with Mashable India, Arshad Warsi discussed his experience filming the 2002 movie Jaani Dushman, which also starred Sunny Deol, Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Aditya Pancholi, and Manisha Koirala. Reflecting on the film, Arshad humorously shared, “My initial request to the director was, ‘Sir, please kill my character off first.'”

He continued, “Jaani Dushman is a cult movie. I love it. It is the only film where I have laughed myself to death. If you look closely, there’s a smile on my face when I am dying. That was one film where my first request was, ‘Sir, sabse pehle ap mujhe maaroge’ (Sir, you will kill me first). He said, ‘Nahi, yaar, 2 jan ke baad tumhe maarunga. (No, I will kill you after at least two people)’ I was like theek hai sir (I was like okay).”

Speaking about his co-actor Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi shared, “He is unbelievable. He was willing to do everybody’s role. He said, ‘Jo bhi marega, uske baad mai aajata hu’ (I will come as the reincarnation of whoever dies).” Arshad continued, “In the film, the guy could change his form, look, and mission impossible. Everything was happening. Whoever died, Akshay came back like them. There were so many funny things that happened in that. It is a cult classic. That film is unbelievable.”

Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahaani is a fantasy action thriller directed by Rajkumar Kohli. The film collected approximately Rs 16 crore at the global box office.
