It was just a few days back that the teaser of ‘Bastar: The Naxal Story’ was unveiled.
The film brings together the trio – Vipul Amrutlal Shah, Sudipto Sen, and Adah Sharma – who are reuniting after ‘The Kerala Story’. Now, the makers dropped the trailer of the film on March 5.
The trailer features, as expected, ruthless shots of how humans are charred to death, hacked with the whole village bearing witness and of people being hanged to death in the streets. In fact, it begins with the Indian Maoists being termed ‘the third-biggest terrorist organisations’.
Claims like Maoists have killed more soldiers than the war with Pakistan are made and people are shown being killed for hoisting the Indian flag. Amidst the chaos, IPS Neerja Madhvan, portrayed by Adah Sharma, takes it upon herself to eliminate the Maoists.
The trailer also uses sensationalism, as was used in ‘The Kerala Story’.
Produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s Sunshine Pictures and co-produced by Aashin A. Shah, ‘Bastar: The Naxal Story’ is directed by Sudipto Sen and will have Adah Sharma in the lead. The film will be released on March 15, 2024, in cinemas worldwide.
