The BMW car which was used to move the body of ex-model Divya Pahuja from the Gurugram hotel where she was allegedly killed, has been located in Punjab’s Patiala.

The car was found locked and police have not yet confirmed whether Divya’s body is in the car’s boot.

Police earlier said they suspect Divya’s body was dumped in a river in Punjab.

The Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram Police, Crime, Vijya Pratap Singh, said the BMW was located at a bus station in Patiala. He added that the two people who are suspected to have transported Divya’s body to Punjab — Balraj and Ravi Bangar — are absconding, and they are on the lookout for the two accused.

Pratap Singh said two phones — one which belonged to Divya and another which belongs to the prime suspect in the murder, Abhijeet Singh — have also been recovered.

However, Divya’s sister said she had another phone and the police are searching for that device.

Divya Pahuja’s murder allegedly took place at Gurugram’s City Point Hotel on January 2 and Abhijeet is its owner.

Abhijeet and two others –Prakash and Indraj — were arrested by the Gurugram Crime Branch in connection with Divya’s death. Both Prakash and Indraj used to work in Abhijeet’s hotel.

CCTV footage showed the suspects, including Abhijeet fleeing the hotel in a blue BMW car, carrying Divya’s body in the boot.

POLICE ON WHAT HAPPENED ON DAY OF DIVYA’S ‘MURDER’
According to the Gurugram Police, they received a call on January 2 from Anoop, who leased the City Point Hotel from Abhijeet, saying a body was found in the owner’s room. Police arrived at around 9 pm and checked Abhijeet’s assigned room — 114 — but returned after they couldn’t find anything.

Police came back again and asked Anoop for the CCTV footage where they saw the accused had moved Divya’s body.

Later, police would access the CCTV footage which showed that Abhijeet, Divya, and another person arrived at the hotel reception at around 4 am on January 2 and proceeded to room number 111. This was where Divya’s body was hidden while the police were searching room 114.

CCTV footage from 10:45 pm that day showed the three accused dragging Divya’s body wrapped in a sheet from the hotel to the BMW car.

Abhijeet Singh told the police that he was introduced to Divya by a man named Binder Gujjar. Gujjar was arrested by Mumbai Police in 2019 for allegedly orchestrating the “fake” encounter of Sandeep Gadoli. Gujjar is currently behind bars.

Abhijeet added that after he got acquainted with Divya, the ex-model took objectionable photos of him, and she used them to blackmail him.

He told the police that he asked Divya for her phone’s password and shot her when she didn’t provide it.
