Bollywood actor Boman Irani has been awarded the Best Actor Male in the feature film category at the International Film Festival of South Asia (IFFSA) Toronto Film Festival for his outstanding work in his latest film The Mehta Boys.
After being honoured with the South Asian Film Association(SAFA) award at the Chicago South Asian Film Festival on September 20, now Irani has added another accolade to his name for The Mehta Boys.
In The Mehta Boys, Boman Irani delivers a compelling performance, capturing the complex emotional dynamics of a father-son relationship with humour and depth. His powerful portrayal has resonated with audiences, earning him well-deserved recognition at various film festivals.
Boman shared a post on Instagram after having won the prestigious award. The caption read, “Best Actor Male Feature Film – Boman Irani for The Mehta Boys. Boman Irani brings to life a complex character with a deft blend of humour and depth, engaging audiences from the very first scene (sic).”
Boman Irani not only directed but also wrote and produced the Prime Video Original film. He co-wrote it with Oscar-winning writer Alexander Dinelaris Jr, known for his work on the 2014 Oscar-winning film Birdman.
The Mehta Boys, starring Irani and Avinash Tiwary, is based on a father and son at odds with each other, who find themselves compelled to spend 48 hours together. It is set to release on Prime Video soon.
