Brahmastra box office collection Day 4: It’s house full for Alia Bhatt-Ranbir Kapoor film

Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, shattered records on its opening day as it became the highest non holiday Day 1 grosser for a bollywood film.

The film garnered absolutely impressive numbers in its opening weekend as it minted Rs 125 crore worldwide. These numbers have come in the post pandemic scenario where there was a long dry spell at the ticket window for quite some time despite big releases like Laal Singh Chaddha, Raksha Bandhan and others. Brahmastra passed the Monday test with flying colours. On Day 4, September 12, it minted in the range of Rs 137-139 crore, according to early reports.

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s Brahmastra is off to a roaring start. After it minted Rs 75 crore globally on Day 1, the film has superseded expectations and is doing phenomenally well at the global box office. The film held well on its first Monday with Hindi collections of Rs 14.25 crore and dubbed language collections of Rs 2 crore, for a total of Rs 16.25 crore nett.

According to the latest media reports, the film minted around Rs 17-19 crore (all languages) on the 4th day of its release. With the latest numbers, Brahmastra’s new collection now stands at Rs 137-139 crore.The film has passed the Monday litmus test as it has held well. Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva is very much on course to breach the Rs 250 cr nett India mark.

ABOUT BRAHMASTRA
Brahmastra is a superhero drama that revolves around a simpleton who shares a special bond with fire. It features Alia Bhatt as the leading lady and marks her first collaboration with Ranbir Kapoor. The cast includes Nagarjuna, Mouni Roy and Amitabh Bachchan. It is directed by Ayan Mukerji. Shah Rukh Khan has a cameo in the movie. Brahmastra opened in the theatres on September 9.

The storyline of Brahmastra follows Shiva, a DJ, who learns about his strange connection with the element of fire. While he emerges as the Agniastra himself, the film follows his strange connection with the Brahmstra, a supernatural weapon that is said to be able to destroy the universe. On the other hand, Junoon, the pawn of the dark forces, is also on a quest to get hold of the Brahmastra.
