Caught on camera: Woman swept away by big waves in Sochi, partner frantic

A woman in Russia was walking on a beach with her boyfriend when massive waves swept her away. A few days have passed since the incident, but there has been no sign of her.

The incident took place in Sochi on June 16.

A video, which has gone viral on social media platforms, shows the terrifying moment when the couple, who were happily playing around moments ago, get slammed by massive waves.

The couple is seen walking on the edge of the beach before a large wave hits them. They are seen standing and holding on to each other as subsequent waves come at them.

Thereafter, the wave current is seen knocking the couple down. Another massive wave then slams into the two. But, while the man is pushed towards the shore, the woman is swallowed by the sea.

The video shows the man desperately searching for the woman, and even wading through the tumultuous waters, but to no effect.

The missing woman has yet to be traced.

As per the Daily Guardian, the Southern Regional Search and Rescue Brigade reported that the search for the woman has not yet returned any results but the efforts continue.
