Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) reached his properties ‘again’ to carry out searches on Saturday.

Taking to Twitter, the Aam Aadmi Party leader said the officials even raided properties in his village but ‘nothing was found’. On the other hand, CBI sources denied Sisodia’s claims, stating that no searches were carried out at his premises.

He further said that nothing would be found. Sisodia said, “Nothing has been found against me and nothing will be found because I have not done anything wrong.”

Sharing the development on Twitter, Sisodia wrote, “Today again CBI has reached my office. He is welcome. They raided my house, raided my office, searched my locker, and even searched my village. Sincerely worked for the education of the children of Delhi.”

CBI sources, however, have said that a team of officials had reached his office to collect documents.

“CBI is not conducting any searches or raids on Manish Sisodia’s premises. He was asked to submit documents under Section 91 of the CrPC notice. It was issued for the submission of a document. A CBI team visited Sisodia’s office to collect the required documents,” CBI sources said.

Under section 91 of CrPC, the investigative officer has the power to ask the person to produce documents related to an investigation. Personal attendance of the person is not required under this section.

Following this, security was tightened outside Sisodia’s Delhi residence.

The development came almost five months after officials conducted raids on Sisodia’s properties in connection with the Delhi excise policy case. The raid had lasted for more than 12 hours.
