The Uttar Pradesh government has ordered its employees to disclose their movable and immovable assets by the month-end or else they will not get their salaries, in a move aimed at bringing transparency in governance administration.

In an order issued by Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh, all Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and Heads of Departments should declare their property details on the ‘Manav Sampada Portal’ by September 30.

The state government has entrusted the Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO) with the responsibility of conducting a timely review of the employees who are abiding by the order.

Only those employees who provide their details of assets on the portal would be given their September salaries.

According to sources, 90 per cent of state government employees have given details of their assets. This means that 7.19 lakh of the total 8.44 lakh employees have mentioned their source of assets on the portal.

Earlier, the employees were supposed to disclose their assets’ details by August 31, but the state government extended the deadline till September 30 after some employees requested more time.
