Digvijaya Singh, Karti Chidambaram in Congress’s fourth list of 46 candidates

The Congress party on Saturday announced its fourth list of 46 Lok Sabha candidates, including party stalwart Digvijaya Singh and leaders Ajay Rai and Karti P Chidambaram.

Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh has been fielded from the Rajgarh constituency, while Ajay Rai will be contesting against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Varanasi.

Karti Chidambaram, son of Congress leader and former Union Minister P Chidambaram, has been named as the candidate from the Shivganga constituency in Tamil Nadu.

Expelled Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Danish Ali, who was verbally abused by BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri inside Parliament, has been fielded as a candidate from Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha constituency.

Uttar Pradesh MLA Imran Masood has been named for Saharanpur constituency and Alok Mishra from Kanpur.

Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat’s son, Virendra Rawat, has been given a ticket from Haridwar Lok Sabha constituency, while Congress leader PL Punia’s son, Tanuj Punia, has been given a Lok Sabha ticket from Bara Banki in Uttar Pradesh.

The sitting MP from Tamil Nady, Manickam Tagore, will be contesting again from Viruddhnagar.

The party has left Rajasthan’s Nagaur Lok Sabha constituency for Hanuman Beniwal’s Rashtriya Loktantrik Party.
