‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’ box office Day 5: Vidya Balan-Pratik Gandhi film struggles

Vidya Balan and Pratik Gandhi’s recently released film, ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’ is struggling at the box office during the weekdays.

The film hardly earned Rs 25 lakh net in theatres in India on April 23, Tuesday. Despite receiving overwhelming reviews from all quarters, it hasn’t translated into numbers. The makers will have to wait and see if the movie will pick up momentum again over the weekend.

‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’ graced the cinemas worldwide on April 19, 2024. The film clashed with Ektaa Kapoor’s ‘LSD 2’ at the box office.

The romantic comedy started off on a slow note with Rs 55 lakh on its first day. During its first weekend, the film earned over Rs 1.50 crore on Saturday and Sunday. On Tuesday, April 23, ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’ is estimated to have earned Rs 26 lakh net in theatres in the country.

The five-day total collection of ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’ now stands at Rs 2.87 crore at the domestic box office. The film recorded an occupancy of 9.25 per cent on April 23 with maximum footfalls during the night shows.

‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’ marks Shirsha Guha Thakurta’s directorial debut. The romantic comedy film features Vidya Balan, Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D’Cruz and Sendhil Ramamurthy in lead roles. The film is jointly written by Suprotim Sengupta, Amrita Bagchi and Eisha Chopra.

‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’ marks Ileana’s first film after embracing motherhood. She last featured in ‘The Big Bull’ alongside Abhishek Bachchan. Meanwhile, Sendhil was last seen in the 2022 series, ‘Doom Patrol’. His last Hindi film appearance was in Raj and DK’s acclaimed, ‘Shor in the City’.
