Ravindra Jadeja put a full stop to rumours of a rift between himself and MS Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings leadership group with a short message and a photo on social media on the deadline day for IPL 2023 retentions.

Jadeja’s social media post came minutes after he was retained by Chennai Super Kings ahead of the mini-auction, scheduled for December.

Ravindra Jadeja shared a throwback photo of him famously lauding MS Dhoni’s heroics by bowing down to him and posted a caption that was a delight for the fans of CSK.

“Everything is fine. #RESTART.” Jadeja wrote as caption for the post, which went viral on Twitter.

Jadeja missed the last few matches of IPL 2022 season due to an injury after a horror season with both bat and ball. A day ahead of the last season, MS Dhoni decided to step down as captain and handed over the reins to Ravindra Jadeja.

However, things did not work out as Dhoni expected. Jadeja struggled to get the right results for CSK and even his own personal form took a beating due to the burden of captaincy.

Jadeja stepped down after CSK’s 8th matchday and Dhoni took over the reins once again. Soon after, the star all-rounder was ruled out of the season with an injury, leading to rumours about a rift between the two superstar cricketers.

Dhoni’s explosive interview in the first match as captain in the 2022 edition of the league did not help. Dhoni said without mixing his words that Jadeja knew that he would be leading the side since the last edition of the tournament but still failed when he took the ground.

A rib injury ruled Jadeja out of the final few games, but once again fans found it hard to believe that there was nothing else in play. With a situation tense in the CSK camp, Ambati Rayudu’s announcement of retirement over Twitter and the subsequent retraction of the same led people to believe that the CSK dressing room had crumbled into pieces.

However, CSK retained both Jadeja and Rayudu for the 2023 season, and their CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed Dhoni would lead the side next year.

CSK released their all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, fast bowlers Chris jordan and Adam Milne. The decision to part ways with Bravo helped raise a few eyebrows as the former West Indies star had been a vital cog to CSK’s success over the years.
