The opening day of the French Open 2024 will witness Carlos Alcaraz, Naomi Osaka, Andy Murray and Andrey Rublev among big names plying their trade.
The 21-year-old Alcaraz recently recovered from his forearm injury after missing the Italian Open. Being touted as a brute force on clay, expectations will be high from the young Spaniard at Roland Garros.
Alcaraz will be up against JJ Wolf from the United States of America (USA) and should be able ease into the second round. Naomi Osaka, who is still getting into her groove after returning from a long break, will lock horns with Italy’s Lucia Bronzetti.
Apart from Osaka and Alcaraz, Andy Murray and Caroline Garcia will also play on Court Philippe-Chatrier.
Jelena Ostapenko and Andrey Rublev are among the top 10 seeds who will be in action. The focus will also be in Nicolas Jarry, who recently finished as the runners-up in Rome after stunning wins over Stefanos Tsitsipas and Tommy Paul in the quarters and semis respectively.
