The teaser of Emraan Hashmi’s upcoming film, Ground Zero, was unveiled on Friday. Directed by Tejas Deoskar, the film, set in Kashmir, is “inspired by true events.” It will hit the theatres on April 25.
The short teaser begins with the terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed warning the Indian Prime Minister about the “freedom of Kashmir.” The video then depicts an attack on Indian soldiers, revealing that “70 soldiers were gunned down.”
Soon, the clip introduces Emraan Hashmi as real-life hero BSF Deputy Commandant Narendra Nath Dubey, who leads a high-stakes mission to hunt down the enemy. Dubey spearheaded the operation that eliminated terrorist mastermind Ghazi Baba in 2003 and was honoured with the Kirti Chakra in 2005 by President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
The teaser ends with Hashmi’s character asking, “Sirf Kashmir ki zameen humaari hai ya yahan ke log bhi?”
The actor shared the film’s teaser with the caption, “Bravery, sacrifice, and a mission that changed everything. #GroundZero teaser out now! #AbPrahaarHoga (sic).”
Backed by Excel Entertainment, the film promises intense, high-octane action combined with an emotionally gripping storyline. Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, Ground Zero also stars Sai Tamhankar in a supporting role.
Emraan Hashmi was last seen as the antagonist Aatish Rehman in Salman Khan’s Tiger 3. Meanwhile, he has Goodachari 2 and Awarapan 2 in the pipeline.
