The self-styled Godman Narayan Sakar Hari, also known as Bhole Baba, on Wednesday reacted to the deadly stampede during his ‘satsang’ (religious gathering) in a village.
In Hathras which killed 121 people and injured many. Issuing an official statement, Bhole Baba expressed his condolences over the incident and claimed that the chaos erupted a long time after he had already left the venue.
The Godman also blamed anti-social elements for causing the stampede, which resulted in the loss of lives.
“I/we express our deep condolence to the families of the deceased and pray to prabhu/parmatma (God) for the speedy recovery of the injured,” the latter issued by Narayan Sarkar Hari read.
A stampede at a religious congregation in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday killed 121 people, most of them women, as devotees suffocated to death and bodies piled atop each other.
