Delhi Capitals Director Of Cricket Sourav Ganguly has said that he hasn’t spoken to Rishabh Pant yet and wished him a quick recovery after he was involved in car crash last year.

Pant’s car got involved in an accident while he was driving on the Delhi-Dehradun highway and the Indian wicketkeeper had to undergo surgery to repair the injuries he had sustained.

The young wicketkeeper is currently recovering at home as he missed the recently-concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy and will also be out of the upcoming IPL season.

Pant has been providing fans with updates through his social media accounts and had posted a video of him showing his progress from the injuries he had sustained from the car crash.

“Grateful for small thing, big things And everything in between,” said Pant in the post.

The wicketkeeper was supposed to lead Delhi Capitals this season in the IPL, but now they will have to look at other options. DC’s director of cricket, Ganguly, while talking exclusively to India Today revealed that he is yet to have a word with Pant and wished him a quick recovery.

The former BCCI President said that wicketkeeper has enough time to make a comeback.

“I have not spoken to him. I wish him a quick recovery. He is a young boy. He is just 23. He has got enough time to come back,” said Ganguly.

When asked about getting a replacement for Pant, Ganguly said that they’re yet to take a decision on it and will make a call after the camp is over.

“This is not yet decided. We will decide after the camp,” said Ganguly.

Delhi Capitals will start their IPL 2023 campaign against Lucknow Super Giants on the 1st of April. The match will be an away fixture for DC who will be chasing their first IPL title this season.
