Hindi Yuva Sangam’ Organized In Nehru Centre London

'Hindi Yuva Sangam' - Hindi event by youths of Indian Diaspora from six different state organisations

On the occasion of Hindi Diwas “Hindi Yuva Sangam” was organized in London on September 15, 2023, in which youth in the age group of 16 to 22 years participated.

This program was organized by Britain’s well known social organization “Sangam” at the Nehru Centre. The program also got the support of leading organizations Katha UK and International Kavi Sangam. Indian High Commission, London also participated in the programme.

The youth participated enthusiastically in the program. Few participants recited their self-written Hindi poem and few recited a self-written Hindi article on an important topic.

Coordination Minister Mr. Deepak Chaudhary and Honourable British MP Mr. Virendra Sharma had the dignified presence in the program. The presence of India’s famous Ram Katha reciter Shri Rajan Ji Maharaj was also noteworthy.

General Secretary of Katha UK and senior litterateur Mr. Tejendra Sharma ji MBE, Hindi officer from the Indian High Commission Dr. Nandita Sahu ji and popular personality of Britain Mr. Ravi Sharma ji made important contributions in the successful organization of the program. They also independently evaluated the presentations of all youths.

The program was conducted by the famous poet Mr. Ashish Mishra. Sangam’s president Mr. Gyan Sharma said that the entire program was divided into six teams whose names were based on the six rivers of India – Ganga, Godavari, Kaveri, Narmada, Brahmaputra and Yamuna. Two youth were kept in each team. In this way the twelve participants made the program beautiful with their presentations.

The participants who participated were Devansh Jha, Saira Khan, Sattviki Pandey, Mehak Chandel, Jahnavi Sharma, Abhiraj Singh, Sneha Chaubey, Ishika Pandey, Krishnam Aachari, Rahul Sethiya, Sapna Thakur and Roma Kakran. All the young Hindi poets were excellent and their presentation enthralled the audience. The auditorium was elated with their super performances.

From the jury team, Mr. Tejendra Sharma, Dr. Nandita Sahu and Mr. Ravi Sharma finally announced the results in which the first prize was given to sixteen year old Krishnam Aachari, second prize to Sneha Chaubey and the third prize to Rahul Sethiya. Apart from this, all the participants were honoured with citations, trophies and awards.

The program was also supported by other well known UK organizations like Hirdesh Gupta, Alok Gupta and Ajay Murudkar from the IDUK, Udheshwar Singh from the Bihari Connect, Indu Barot from the Rajasthan Association and Gurukul UK, Madhuresh Mishra, Ashwini Srivastava, Rajesh Vishwakarma and Abhi Yogi from the UPCAUK, Aditya Pratap Singh and Vinayak Girgune from the Friends of Madhya Pradesh UK, Katha UK, International Kavi Sangam, Raj Rawat from the Phoenix and Sangam, Rikul Patel from the Jalaram Caterer, City Sweet, MATV etc.

It was a houseful show and everyone liked the performances of young participants. Other dignitaries of Sangam like Santosh PandeyYogesh and Smita Pandey described the program as very satisfying and successful. In the end, Mr. Gyan Sharma reiterated his resolve to continue doing such programs to spread the knowledge of Hindi around the United Kingdom.
