Jawan, Home On Leave, Killed By Terrorists In J&K; 4th Attack In 3 Days

A CRPF jawan, who was home on leave, was killed by terrorists in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir. This is the fourth attack by terrorists in the last three days.

Mukthar Ahmad, the Central Reserve Police Force personnel, was taken to the district hospital where he died of his injuries.

The area has been cordoned off and a hunt launched to catch the attackers, news agency PTI quoted a police official as saying.

This comes close on the heels of the killings of the two village heads in Kashmir. Shabir Ahmad Mir, the sarpanch associated with the BJP, was shot dead by terrorists in Kulgam on Friday, two days after Bashir Ahmad Bhat, sarpanch of Khanmoh. on the outskirts of Srinagar, was killed by terrorists.

In last one week, there has been a rise in terrorist incidents across Jammu and Kashmir.
