Kartik Aaryan eyes Cocktail 2, discusses Luka Chuppi 2 with Dinesh Vijan: Report
Actor Kartik Aaryan is looking at multiplying his success after Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, and is actively discussing projects with various filmmakers.
He was recently spotted at the Maddock Films office, and now the buzz suggests that he met director-producer Dinesh Vijan and expressed his wish to headline Cocktail 2 and Luka Chuppi 2.
A report in Bollywood Hungama mentioned a source confirming that Kartik and Dinesh had a creative meeting about their respective lineup of films, and they discussed the possibility of a potential collaboration. Kartik, who seems to have proven his hold over franchise films, reportedly mentioned that he loved Cocktail and would be excited to front its part two.
The source said, “Kartik in particular enquired about the possibilities of Cocktail 2 with him in the lead, as he is a big fan of the first film, especially the part of Deepika Padukone. The conversation ended on an open-ended note with the hope of teaming up on a project soon. Dinesh Vijan is also excited to partner with Kartik Aaryan, after the success he has achieved through his own efforts with the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise.”
Kartik’s heartland drama, Luka Chuppi, which also starred Kriti Sanon, was successful at the box office, and the duo also spoke about making part two of the same title. The report mentioned, “Luka Chuppi is a big hit, and they have also given thought to Luka Chuppi 2. We will get a clear idea in the next month, but both Dinesh Vijan and Kartik Aaryan are very keen to partner and take forward a franchise, as Bhool Bhulaiyaa has proved how strong a combo – franchise + Kartik is in the modern world.”
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which is still running in theatres, has surpassed Singham Again at the box office. There’s a strong buzz in the trade section about Kartik’s potential at driving franchises on his own, and being a legit crowd puller at the ticket window. The actor himself is aware of the same, and has started thinking about taking this success ahead with more commercial hits.
