Kartik Aaryan opens up on his relationship status after breakup with Sara Ali Khan. Find out

On Koffee with Karan season 6, Sara made her debut on the couch with her dad, Saif Ali Khan.

Though this was her first time on the couch, she was quite spontaneous and outspoken with her answers. During the rapid fire round, Karan asked her whom she would like to date from the film industry. She immediately took Kartik’s name.

As soon as the episode aired, Kartik and Sara fans started to root for the couple. There were soon reports claiming that the duo had started dating and also filming for Imtiaz Ali’s film Love Aaj Kal. However, they broke up later. Kartik Aaryan has now apparently revealed the timeline of this split.

KARTIK AARYAN REVEALS HE IS SINGLE SINCE 1.25 YEARS
Without giving any information on his past relationship, Kartik Aaryan shared in a new interview that he has been single for over a year. Though he refused to make any comment about his relationship with Sara Ali Khan, he insisted that he is definitely single at present.

Kartik told Film Companion, “Mai pichle sava saal se single hoon, baaki mujhe kuch nahi pataa (I have been single since the past 1.25 years, I don’t know about anything else).” When told that 1.25 years is a very specific timeline, Kartik could say nothing but blush.

Kartik immediately changed his statement and said, “I have been single for the past 1 year.” He further clarified, “I am not reducing the time period slowly…it just was not precise.” Asked if he will continue to say that his work is his relationship, Kartik replied, “No it’s not like that. But I am single. That’s about it.”

Rumour mills suggested that Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan were in a relationship as they filmed Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal 2. This is their only film together. Reportedly, they broke up right before the film’s release. Though the actors never commented on it, Karan Johar mentioned in a conversation during Sara’s appearance on Koffee With Karan that they had dated.
