Former India captain MS Dhoni reached the Maa Dewri temple in Tamar to seek blessings ahead of the IPL 2024 season on February 5, Monday.

Dhoni has been keeping himself occupied during his time away from the field as he gets ready to lead the Chennai Super Kings side in the new season with the aim of clinching an unprecedented 6th IPL title.

The former India captain was seen visiting the Maa Dewri Temple, located close to Ranchi to seek the blessings ahead of the new campaign. It has been noted that Dhoni has a special faith attached to the temple as he came to seek blessings.

Is IPL 2024 going to be Dhoni’s final hurrah?
Dhoni has once again defied the constraints of time, confirming his participation in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the 2024 season. This announcement came on the heels of a spectacular campaign in 2023, where he steered CSK to an equal record fifth title, matching the success of Mumbai Indians under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy.

Dhoni’s tenure with CSK has been nothing short of legendary, with his leadership skills shining through in the T20 format. Despite hanging up his boots from international cricket on August 15, 2020, Dhoni has maintained his physique and strategic acumen, which have been pivotal in CSK’s continued dominance in the IPL over the past four years.

The resilience of this seasoned campaigner was on full display during the 2023 season, as he battled a knee injury that plagued him throughout the tournament. Yet, his determination never wavered, and under his guidance, CSK clinched another title. Post the victory, Dhoni underwent a keyhole surgery to address his knee issue and committed himself to a rigorous rehabilitation regimen to ensure he would be back in action, fit and ready for the challenges of IPL 2024.

While many feel this could be Dhoni’s final campaign, Deepak Chahar recently said he could see continuing on for a few more seasons.
