Not right moment for a celebration: CSK social media handle teases Matheesha Pathirana after MS Dhoni dismissal

CSK’s social media team has teased Matheesha Pathirana after the Sri Lankan pacer was pictured recreating his wicket celebration after the dismissal of MS Dhoni against DC.

Pathirana has been the find of the season for CSK this year as he has picked up 15 wickets this season in 12 matches at an average of 18.85.

The Sri Lankan pacer had adopted Cristiano Ronaldo’s new celebration after picking up wickets and had said that the Portuguese superstar is his favourite footballer and he is a die-hard fan of him.

During the match against DC recently, Dhoni had played a wonderful cameo of 20 from just 9 balls to give CSK the much-needed momentum at the end.

The CSK skipper had hit two sixes and a boundary off Khaleel Ahmed to thrill the fans at Chepauk, before he was dismissed by Mitchell Marsh in the last over.

The CSK social media has now tried to pull the leg of Pathirana as the young pacer was pictured hitting his wicket celebration as Dhoni was walking back to the pavilion.

“Not the right moment for celebration @matheesha.pathirana_99,” said CSK on Instagram.

Pathirana responded in the comments section and said that he was just stretching his quad muscles.

“Bruh it’s a stretch for the quad muscles,” said Pathirana.

CSK won the match against DC by 27 runs with Pathirana picking up three wickets.

Dhoni had recently spoke about the young pacer and suggested that he shouldn’t go anywhere near red-ball cricket.

“I feel he should not play red-ball cricket, not even get close to it, even play only ICC tournaments with ODIs and keep the rest as less as possible, because he’s not someone who’ll change a lot. This is what he’ll do. So you can always use him at crucial times. But make sure he’s fit and available for all the ICC tournaments and he’ll be a great asset for Sri Lanka,” said Dhoni.
