All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi after he said.
The Congress, if voted to power, would distribute the country’s wealth to “infiltrators” and “those who have more children”. In a post on X, Owaisi accused PM Modi of “abusing” Muslims to get votes and that the community was being feared “while their wealth was being used to enrich others”.
“PM Modi today (Sunday) called Muslims infiltrators and people with many children. Since 2002 till this day, the only ‘Modi guarantee’ has been to abuse Muslims and get votes. If one is talking about the country’s wealth, one should know that under Modi’s rule, the first right to India’s wealth has been of his wealthy friends,” Owaisi tweeted.
“1 per cent of Indians own 40 per cent of the country’s wealth. Common Hindus are made to fear Muslims while their wealth is being used to enrich others,” he said.
Addressing a rally in Rajasthan’s Banswara on Sunday, PM Modi cited former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s remarks that Muslims had the first claim on the country’s resources.
“The Congress manifesto says they will calculate the gold with mothers and sisters, get information about it and then distribute that property. They will distribute it to whom? Manmohan Singh’s government had said that Muslims have the first right on the country’s assets,” PM Modi said.
“This means to whom will this property be distributed? It will be distributed among those who have more children. It will be distributed to the infiltrators. Should your hard-earned money go to the infiltrators? Do you approve of this?” he said.
The Congress hit back and accused PM Modi of lying and creating a divide between Hindus and Muslims. The party also rejected the Prime Minister’s claims and said their manifesto had no such promise.
