PM Modi flags off Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express train in Hyderabad

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the second batch of the Vande Bharat Express train in Telangana on Saturday.

The prime minister is visiting the southern state to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth over Rs 11,300 crore, including AIIMS at Bibinagar.

VANDE BHARAT TRAIN IN TELANGANA
PM Modi arrived in Telangana on Saturday and was received by Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, among other dignitaries.

The Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express, which connects Hyderabad’s IT City with Lord Venkateswara’s temple in Tirupati, is the state’s second Vande Bharat train. The train will reduce the travel time between the two cities by almost three and a half hours and will benefit pilgrim passengers too.

This is also the South Central Railway (SCR) zone’s second semi-high-speed train. The train will run on all days except Tuesday. It will depart at 6 am and arrive at the destination around 2:30 pm. The train will travel a distance of 662 km.

Secundarabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express will have four stops between Secundarabad and Tirupati — Nalgonda, Guntur, Ongole, and Nellore.

PM MODI IN TELANGANA
In the southern state, PM Modi will participate in a public meeting at Parade Ground in Secunderabad, official sources said. He will also lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of the Secunderabad railway station.

PM Modi is scheduled to leave for Tamil Nadu after his visit to Hyderabad on the same day. He will inaugurate a new integrated terminal building set up at a total outlay of Rs 2,437 crore at the Chennai airport. In a tweet earlier, PM Modi had said the new terminal will boost the local economy.
